Fudget is a deliberately simple budget list: you type in income and expenses, and it shows what is left. There is no bank sync, by design. The free version covers 5 budgets and 250 entries on one device; Fudget Plus costs $19.99 a year and adds syncing between devices and sharing with one person.

Our arithmetic from the listed prices, before sales tax, assuming today's prices hold; subscriptions can renew at a different rate. Fudget Plus has no monthly plan on the website. The 6-month plan ($14.99) is labelled "Best Value", but paying it twice costs $29.98 a year, $9.99 more than the $19.99 yearly plan.
How Fudget works
Each budget in Fudget is a list. You add income at the top and expenses below, and Fudget keeps a running total of what is left. You can make a budget for each month, for each week, or for a one-off event such as a wedding, a holiday or a renovation.
A hypothetical month: you enter $3,000 of pay, then rent at $1,200, car payment $350, phone $60 and a $400 grocery line. Fudget shows $990 left. As you tick items off or add new costs, the remainder changes. On Plus, a partial lets you record paying part of a bill.
On desktop you can enter everything from the keyboard. With Plus, the same budgets sync across your Mac, Windows PC, iPhone and Android phone, and a partner can share the account.

Who Fudget fits, and who should skip it
A good fit if
- You want a quick list of what is coming in and going out, not categories and charts.
- You do not want to link bank accounts to any app.
- You want the same budget on a Windows or Mac computer and your phone for under $20 a year.
Look elsewhere if
- You want transactions to arrive automatically: Monarch Money or YNAB sync with banks.
- You want a free, structured budget method by hand: EveryDollar or Goodbudget give more guidance.
- You want manual entry with full reports and multiple currencies, free: Money Manager Ex is open source.

Security and privacy
- Because Fudget never connects to your bank, it never holds bank logins or bank transaction feeds. [1]
- The privacy policy describes only "organizational and technical processes" to protect data; it does not say how data is encrypted or whether two-factor login exists. [2]
- Fudget's website says "no tracking", but its privacy policy (August 5, 2023) says the apps may display a third-party "offer wall". It contains no explicit statement about selling data. [2]
