Our Editorial Standards

Wealthy Pot publishes personal finance content under a single editorial byline, Wealthy Pot Editorial, rather than under individual author names. This page explains how that content is researched, sourced, and checked, so you can judge it on its method rather than on a name.

How we source numbers

Personal finance is a subject where a single wrong figure can cost a reader money. Every hard fact we publish, meaning every contribution limit, tax bracket, deadline, threshold, rate, and statutory rule, is verified against a primary source before it goes live. A primary source means the body that actually sets or reports the number:

  • IRS notices and revenue procedures for contribution limits, tax brackets, and inflation adjustments. For example, the 2026 retirement plan limits on this site come from IRS Notice 2025-67, and the 2026 bracket and capital gains figures from Revenue Procedure 2025-32.
  • Social Security Administration for the annual cost-of-living adjustment, the taxable wage base, and benefit figures.
  • SEC and official regulator publications for rules affecting investors.
  • The issuer or provider itself for any product detail. If we describe a bank account or a credit card, the terms come from that institution's own page, not from another article about it.

We do not treat a secondary summary, an aggregator, or another blog as sufficient evidence for a number. Where two credible sources disagree, we find a third authoritative source to settle it rather than picking one.

What we check for

  • Figures that recently changed. Annual limits move, and legislation can move them mid-cycle. We re-verify rather than assuming a long-standing number still holds.
  • Rates and prices that go stale. Savings rates, yields, and product terms change constantly. Where we quote one, we date it and tell you to confirm the current figure with the provider.
  • Real products only. Every financial product, institution, app, or ticker we name is one that actually exists, and we link to the provider so you can verify it yourself.

What we will not publish

  • Personalized financial advice. We are not licensed financial advisors, and nothing here is a recommendation tailored to your circumstances. Our content is educational. For decisions that turn on your own situation, consult a qualified professional. See our full disclaimer.
  • Invented products or fabricated endorsements. We do not publish made-up account names, made-up providers, or testimonials from people who do not exist.
  • Undated figures presented as current. Illustrative math is labeled as hypothetical, and example scenarios are clearly marked as examples rather than as returns you should expect.

Corrections

We review published guides on an ongoing basis and update them when the underlying figures change, noting the revision date on the article. If you find something on this site that is wrong, out of date, or unclear, please tell us through the contact page. Corrections to factual errors are made promptly, and we would rather hear about a mistake than leave it in front of readers.

How we are funded

Wealthy Pot is supported by advertising, and some pages in our app and tool reviews carry affiliate links. Where an affiliate relationship exists it does not change which products we include, how we rank them, or any figure we report. Our privacy policy covers advertising cookies and how your data is handled.
