Benzinga Pro is a real-time news terminal for active traders who act on headlines during the trading day. The one thing to know: Basic gets you the newsfeed and real-time quotes, but the audio squawk starts at Streamlined ($147 a month) and the scanner and Benzinga AI only come with Essential ($197 a month). Basic costs $37 a month or $367 a year, after a 14-day free trial.

Our arithmetic from the listed prices, before sales tax, assuming today's prices hold; subscriptions can renew at a different rate. Annual billing works out to $30.58, $124.75 and $166.42 a month. Add-ons cost extra: High Beta Squawk $99 a month, Unusual Options Activity $27.97 a month. Accounts auto-renew, and the Terms say cancellation must be in writing (Benzinga takes it by email or chat). A holiday sale in December 2025 cut annual prices in half for a time.
How Benzinga Pro works
Benzinga Pro is a browser workspace built around a newsfeed. Benzinga says it pulls from 1,000+ sources and that its wire exclusives arrive "5-15 minutes before mainstream sources"; that is the vendor's claim. Basic gives the full feed with real-time Nasdaq Basic quotes. Streamlined adds filters by price, volume and float, so you only see headlines on stocks you could trade, and the Audio Squawk, where Benzinga's newsdesk reads key headlines aloud from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.
Essential adds the tools for finding movers: a real-time scanner (filters such as market cap, float, relative volume and short interest), Benzinga AI for questions in plain language, Signals, an insider-trade tool and market calendars. Benzinga's own disclaimer: "We do not recommend the use of news as a sole means of trading decisions." Headlines move prices fast, so read our common investing mistakes guide before trading on them.
A hypothetical cost case for Essential. Paying monthly for a year: $197 x 12 = $2,364. Paying yearly: $1,997, which saves $367. Adding Unusual Options Activity at $27.97 a month adds $27.97 x 12 = $335.64 over the year, so annual Essential plus that add-on comes to $1,997 + $335.64 = $2,332.64. Basic over a year is $37 x 12 = $444 monthly against $367 yearly.

Who Benzinga Pro fits, and who should skip it
A good fit if
- You trade US stocks during market hours and act on news catalysts.
- You want someone reading the headlines aloud while you watch charts (Streamlined or Essential).
- You want a scanner and news in one browser tab and can justify $197 a month or $1,997 a year.
Look elsewhere if
- You want scans that fire on price action, with backtesting: Trade Ideas is built for that.
- You invest for the long term: daily headlines matter little; Seeking Alpha has longer analysis, or see why most investors do fine with passive investing.
- You mostly want charts: TradingView has a free plan and much deeper charting.
Limitations to know
- Refunds, per the Terms: "All subscription purchases are final. No cash refunds, partial or otherwise, will be given." If you are unhappy within 7 days of your first payment, the Terms offer an account credit equal to that fee, not cash. Promotional packages are final. [3]
- Refunds, per the Help Center: annual subscribers who cancel within 7 days of a payment, including a renewal, get a full refund; monthly charges and discounted introductory prices do not qualify. This conflicts with the Terms, so ask Benzinga to confirm in writing before relying on it. [4]

There is a Free level with quotes delayed 15 minutes and the BZ Wire newsfeed only (search, no filters), plus a watchlist and a chart. Paid plans have a 14-day free trial, one per customer.
