About Wealthy Pot
Wealthy Pot is a free personal finance site for people in the United States. It is run by one person, not a company and not a newsroom.
Who runs it
Wealthy Pot is owned and operated by a solo operator. The operator is a software engineer by trade. They are not a licensed financial adviser, tax professional, accountant or insurance agent, and nothing on this site is personalised advice.
Articles carry the byline "Wealthy Pot Editorial" rather than a personal name. hello@wealthypot.com reaches the operator directly.
What the site is for
The site answers money questions that have a right answer and a deadline. Most readers arrive looking for one of these:
- Retirement and Social Security figures: contribution limits, RMD rules, COLA, benefit timing.
- Federal employee topics: TSP, FERS, FEHB.
- Medicare costs, including Part B premiums and IRMAA thresholds.
- Current rates: mortgage rates, Treasury yields, the Fed's rate decisions, inflation.
- Tax figures: brackets, standard deductions, filing deadlines.
- Everyday calculators: paycheck, cost of living, inflation, mortgage affordability, refinance.
- Reviews of budgeting apps, brokers, savings accounts and tax software, with prices re-checked about once a month.
Every page is free to read. There is no login, no paywall and no lead form.
How pages are made
We say this plainly because readers deserve to know: AI agents do most of the research and drafting on this site. The operator directs that work, sets the rules the agents must follow, and decides what gets published.
Every new page, and every update that changes a figure, goes through these steps:
- An AI agent researches the topic and drafts the page. Alongside the draft it keeps a facts file: each number, the primary source it came from, and the exact wording on that source.
- Every number, limit, date and rate in the draft is checked against a primary source. Primary means the body that sets or reports the figure: the IRS, the Social Security Administration, CMS, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Census Bureau, the Federal Reserve, the Treasury, or the issuer's own page for a product. Blogs and aggregators do not count.
- A second AI agent, working from the sources rather than the draft, re-checks the hard numbers before publishing. This check is done by AI, not by a person.
- A third AI agent reviews the change itself: that the site builds, the tests pass and nothing else moved.
- Automated tests run in every site build, including unit tests on the calculators. When an edit is meant to change only wording, a check script compares the page with its previous version and fails if any figure, link or heading moved.
- Nothing goes live until the operator approves it. The operator spot-checks headline numbers against the source. The operator does not personally re-check every number on every page.
- Most articles with hard figures show a "Figures checked" date. That date is the day the figures were last pulled from the source, not the day the wording was last edited.
If a number is wrong, the fix is public. See the corrections page, and our editorial standards for the full rules.
How the site earns money
Wealthy Pot is free to read, so it has to earn another way.
- Affiliate links. Some product reviews link to the provider through a tracking link. If you sign up through one, the provider may pay us a commission. Every such link carries a visible note next to it saying so. Affiliate deals never change which products appear, how they are ranked, or any figure on the page.
- Display ads may appear on some pages. They are marked as ads and never change what a page says.
There is no paid advice tier, no lead sales and no sponsored articles.
What we never do
- Pick funds, stocks or TSP allocations for you.
- Give advice tailored to your situation. For that, see a licensed professional.
- Collect your details through lead forms or sell them to anyone.
- Invent people. There are no made-up authors, reviewers, customers or testimonials on this site.
- Quote a number without saying where it came from.
