Corrections
Wealthy Pot publishes numbers people act on. When one of them is wrong, we fix it in the open. This page explains how to report an error, what happens next, and lists every numeric correction we have made.
How to report an error
Email hello@wealthypot.com. Include:
- The page address.
- The figure, sentence or claim you believe is wrong.
- The correct figure, if you know it, and where it comes from. A link to the primary source helps most.
You do not need to be sure. "This looks off" is enough to start a check. We would rather look into a false alarm than leave an error in front of readers.
What happens next
- You get a reply confirming we received the report. Target: within 5 business days.
- We pull the figure again from its primary source. If the source and the page disagree, the page is wrong. If two sources disagree with each other, we find a third authoritative source as a tiebreaker.
- If the page is wrong, we fix it and move the "Figures checked" date. We also check whether the same figure appears on other pages and fix those too.
- We add a dated correction note to the page and a row to the log below.
- We reply to tell you what we found and what changed. Target: within 10 business days of your report for simple figures. Complex cases can take longer, and we will say so.
Reports are read by the site operator. The re-check of the figure may be done by the operator or by an AI agent working from the primary source. The decision to publish a correction is the operator's. How we source and check figures in the first place is on the editorial standards page.
What counts as a correction
A correction is any change to a number, date, rate, threshold, deadline or statutory rule that was wrong when published, or any factual claim a reader could have acted on. These always get a dated note and a log entry.
Three things are not corrections and do not get a log entry:
- Scheduled updates. When the IRS publishes next year's brackets and we update a page, that is a refresh, not a correction. The "Figures checked" date changes and the page says which year it covers.
- Wording changes. Fixing a typo, tightening a sentence or reordering sections does not change any fact.
- Adding new material. A new section or a new calculator is an addition, not a fix.
No silent edits for numbers
We do not quietly swap a wrong number for a right one. Every numeric correction gets a dated note on the page that says what the figure was, what it is now, and the source. The note stays on the page. If a correction changes a calculator's result, the note says so and names the affected inputs.
Wording-only edits may be made without a note.

Disagreements that are not errors
Sometimes a reader disagrees with how we read a rule, or with the source we used. If our figure matches the primary source, we will explain why and link the source, but the page stays as it is. If we used the wrong source, that is an error and we correct it.
