Snowball Analytics Review (2026)
Snowball Analytics is a dividend-focused portfolio tracker with a dividend calendar, yield on cost and broker sync, for income investors who hold stocks, ETFs and funds. The one thing to know: the free plan covers 10 holdings and imports broker files, but automatic broker sync starts on Starter. Starter costs $7.99 a month or $79.99 a year, with a 14-day trial that needs no card.

Our arithmetic from the listed prices, before sales tax, assuming today's prices hold; subscriptions can renew at a different rate. Prices are shown in US dollars to US visitors; visitors in Europe see the same numbers in euros. Snowball calls yearly billing 16% off, or 2 months free. Payments go through Stripe by card. After the 14-day trial the account drops to the free plan instead of charging you.
How Snowball Analytics works
You add holdings by importing a broker report (Snowball has guides for Fidelity, Robinhood and others), by hand, or on a paid plan by linking the broker. Linking runs through Yodlee or SnapTrade; Snowball syncs with them daily, and it says Yodlee pulls from the broker every few days while SnapTrade has a one-day delay, so new trades can take a while to show. The link is read-only and Snowball never sees your broker password.
The dividend side is the core: a calendar of upcoming payments, yield and yield on cost, a custom withholding tax setting for foreign dividends and, from Starter, a dividend rating. Snowball also offers a rebalancing tool, backtests on historical data and IRR and time-weighted return explanations in its help center. It does not advertise capital-gains or Form 8949 tax reports, so you still file from your broker's tax forms; our dividend tax guide covers how the payouts are taxed. Snowball Analytics SAS is a French company and keeps personal data in the EU; US visitors see prices in dollars.
A hypothetical setup: you hold 25 dividend stocks at two brokers and want them synced. Free stops at 10 holdings and has no broker linking, so you need at least Starter. Billed yearly it is $79.99; month to month it is $7.99 x 12 = $95.88, so yearly saves $15.89. Starter allows only 1 portfolio, so if you want each broker as its own portfolio, Investor (10 portfolios) costs $149.99 a year, $70 more.
Pros
- 14-day trial with no card, and it drops to Free instead of charging
- Dividend calendar, yield on cost and custom withholding tax on every plan
- Snowball says it never sells data and is funded only by subscriptions
- CSV export of holdings and transactions on all plans
Cons
- Broker sync is paid only
- Synced trades can lag by a day or more
- Crypto is not listed among supported assets
- No capital-gains tax reports advertised
Who Snowball Analytics fits, and who should skip it
A good fit if
- You invest for dividend income and want a payment calendar, yield on cost and income tracking.
- You want to try every paid feature for 14 days without entering a card.
- You want broker sync for under $80 a year.
Look elsewhere if
- You need capital-gains and taxable income reports: Sharesight has them.
- You hold crypto: Snowball does not list it; Delta tracks wallets and exchanges.
- You want broker sync free: Snowball charges for it; Yahoo Finance links US brokers on its free plan.
Limitations to know
- The free plan has 10 holdings and 1 portfolio, and it imports files instead of linking brokers. [1]
- Yodlee pulls from brokers every few days and SnapTrade runs a day behind, so synced data is not instant. [7]
- Snowball warns that its data is not necessarily real time or accurate. [1]
- There are no refunds unless a plan-specific policy or the law provides one. [4]
- Snowball is not a registered investment adviser or broker-dealer. [1]

How we researched this review
We did not get paid or receive a free account for this page. We read Snowball Analytics's own pricing page, help center, security and privacy pages and app-store listing on October 19, 2026, quoted each fact from those pages, and link every one below. We did not run a long-term hands-on test, so we do not score the app; where a point rests on what the company says rather than something we can check, we attribute it to Snowball Analytics. Cost figures are our own arithmetic. We re-check prices and plans about once a month and log changes in the table above.
