Etsy Fees 2026: Calculator and Every Fee Explained
On a typical Etsy sale, a US seller pays three fees: a $0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping and gift wrap, and payment processing of 3% + $0.25 on the order total including sales tax. If the buyer came through one of Etsy's Offsite Ads, add 15% (12% for larger shops), capped at $100 per order. Together, the three standard fees come to roughly 11% of a $41 order in the example below.
The Short Answer
- Listing fee: $0.20 per listing, which lasts four months; auto-renewal and each extra quantity sold cost another $0.20.
- Transaction fee: 6.5% of the item price, shipping and gift wrap. US sellers don't pay it on sales tax.
- Payment processing (US): 3% + $0.25 per order, on the full amount including shipping and tax.
- Offsite Ads: 15%, or 12% once a shop has $10,000 or more in sales over the past 365 days, capped at $100 per order, only on sales from those ads.
- No fee for regular deposits to a US bank account.

Every Etsy Fee for US Sellers
| Fee | Amount | Charged on |
|---|---|---|
| Listing | $0.20 | Each listing, for 4 months; each auto-renewal and each extra quantity sold |
| Transaction | 6.5% | Item price, shipping and gift wrap (including personalization); not sales tax for US sellers |
| Payment processing | 3% + $0.25 | Each order's total, including shipping and sales tax |
| Offsite Ads | 15%, or 12% at $10,000+ in yearly sales | Orders from an Etsy ad on another site within 30 days of the click; capped at $100 per order; not on tax |

Etsy Fees & Payments Policy (updated October 5, 2026) and Etsy Payments Policy (updated July 31, 2026), plus Etsy Help Center articles, read October 20, 2026. The Regulatory Operating fee Etsy charges in some countries does not apply to US sellers.
Share & Save works the other way: when a buyer orders within 30 days of clicking a link you shared, Etsy gives you back 4% of the order total (item, shipping and gift wrap, before tax).
Offsite Ads
Etsy advertises listings on other sites, such as search engines and social media, and charges a fee only when one of those ads leads to a sale within 30 days. Shops with less than $10,000 in sales over the past 365 days pay 15% and can opt out. Once a shop reaches $10,000, the fee drops to 12% but the ads become mandatory, for as long as the shop is open. Either way the fee is capped at $100 per order. On a $41 order, a 15% Offsite Ads fee adds $6.15, more than the other three fees combined.
A Worked Example
A hypothetical $35 item with $6 shipping, sold to a buyer who pays 7% sales tax ($2.87):
| Fee | Normal sale | Sale from Offsite Ads (15%) |
|---|---|---|
| Listing | $0.20 | $0.20 |
| Transaction (6.5% of $41) | $2.67 | $2.67 |
| Processing (3% of $43.87 + $0.25) | $1.57 | $1.57 |
| Offsite Ads (15% of $41) | - | $6.15 |
| Total fees | $4.44 (10.8%) | $10.59 (25.8%) |
| You receive | $36.56 | $30.41 |
Our arithmetic with Etsy's published fees; percentages are of the $41 item plus shipping. Etsy collects and sends sales tax to the state, so the tax isn't part of what you receive. Your materials, packaging and postage still come out of the $36.56.
The $100 cap matters only for expensive items: on a $900 sale from Offsite Ads, 15% would be $135, so Etsy charges $100.
Getting Paid
Etsy deposits your funds to a US bank account without a fee. You can choose daily deposits once your balance is at least $25. Fees are taken out of your sales before deposit. If you sell regularly for profit, the income is taxable and you may owe self-employment tax; our 1099 tax calculator estimates it. For selling secondhand items, see eBay's fees, and for other ways to earn, our side hustles comparison.

FAQ
How much does Etsy take per sale?
For a US seller: $0.20 for the listing, 6.5% of the item price and shipping, and 3% + $0.25 for payment processing. On a $35 item with $6 shipping that is $4.44, or about 10.8% of the $41. Offsite Ads add 15% (or 12%) when they bring the sale.
Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee applies to shipping and gift wrap as well as the item price, and payment processing applies to the whole order.
Does Etsy charge fees on sales tax?
US sellers don't pay the transaction fee or Offsite Ads fee on sales tax, but the 3% payment processing fee is charged on the order total including tax.
Can I turn off Etsy Offsite Ads?
Only if your shop made less than $10,000 in the past 365 days. Once you reach $10,000, Offsite Ads are mandatory at a 12% fee for the life of the shop.
Is Etsy or eBay cheaper for sellers?
For most categories eBay's 13.6% (on the total sale including shipping and tax) plus $0.40 per order is higher than Etsy's roughly 9.5% plus $0.45 on a typical order without Offsite Ads, but an Offsite Ads sale on Etsy costs more. Run both calculators with your own numbers.
